Inspired by real life events, « The Last Spring » takes place in 2014, Algeria. The "Rebai" family lives felicitously all together although "Rabie", the husband of "Rawda" and father of two boys: "Sofiane" and "Riad", and five girls: "Hasna", "Amel", "Rawya", "Rahik", and "Hiba", works in another town far from home. "Rabie" makes sure to always keep a balance between his solid family life, and his work as an entrepreneur.
"Amel Rebai", an Information Technology graduate working now at university, tells the story of her father who was diagnosed with ALS disease in 2015 after a series of emerging symptoms at the beginning of autumn 2014, turning their family life upside down living their nadir, inure to their father's condition.
Believing in God's destiny to change the worst into the best, the "Rebai" family commits to assist "Rabie" in his distressful situation. From "Tunisia" to "Turkey", to "China", "Rabie" fights the "ALS" disease with every bodacious glimmer of hope, surrounded by his supporting family and friends.
Positivity, resistance, and faithfulness to God versus a denigrating health situation caused by a deadly disease.
Family relationships, devotion, sacrifices, hope, prayers and perseverance were all portrayed in these sequences of events.
*"The reason I decided to resist and proceed with all these treatments is because all of you were deep into my mind. I am fighting back this illness to be around you for as long as God's willingness"*
*A special thank you to "Amel Rebai" for her continuous collaboration despite the heaviness of relating every detail mentioned in this true story. She played the role of a raconteur with an effervescent tone.*
