Maribel Whitelace, a student radical and avowed anarchist or "antiarch" travels to the nation of Volenka to report on a civil war taking place there. While Maribel initially believes that her writing will bring support for rebels fighting in Volenka, she finds that the opposition movement is far more fractured than she initially thought, and that her specific brand radical thought is not well looked upon.
