Ronny Sawyer is the son of single mother, Veronica Sawyer, and the late Jason "JD" Dean. He is about to start his senior year at the same school that his mother attended. Ronny is curious to learn more about his mother's dark past and the truth about his father.

Meanwhile, Veronica Sawyer works as a police detective in Sherwood, Ohio. She is investigating a series of murders that have taken place in the town. However, there is something familiar about these killings that she can't quite put her finger on...
