I had known of the rumors, he was supposed to be a cursed being--something unwanted and maimed. But they never spoke of just how beautiful the man before me actually is.
He's utterly breathtaking.
And I mean that literally as those eyes are already trained my way--meeting mine to pleasantly showcase one cerulean iris, framed by a darkened scar and mismatched with a murky gray on the other side of his gaze.

There's a yelp that graces my ears, making me jolt as one of the bushes rimming the garden let out a flurry of rustles.

A reluctant Prince, pressured by his father's demands, undertakes the arduous task of selecting a bride. With this generational curse overtaking the left side of his body, he is forsaken by all the realm--a charred product of a quirk marriage.
Legally overthrowing the King would require a wife.
And his method of finding one to adhere to the old man's wishes? Inviting a cohort of wealthy women to reside within the castle walls for two months, secretly subjecting them to a battery of tests to discern their true character.
Among these Ladies is a maiden named (Y/n)--and she's about to throw herself out the nearest fucking window.
At the moment, fate seems to enjoy laughing in her face, and to be precise--its breath stinks.
When the Lady she had been tending to disappears in pursuit of her own love, the poor servant is sent to take her place and tasked with two crucial rules: maintain her disguise and, above all, DO NOT fall for the damned Prince.
