When the cameras flash too bright, the crowds shout too loud, cars honk too frequent ; when everything around him sends his feathers buzzing and his head in a spiral, Hawks retreats to the only place that brings him the smallest bit of freedom, the Center Marks Tower, the second tallest building in Kyushu, Japan. Being so high above it all drowns out all the bustling city noise, draws out all the emotions Hawks tries so hard to keep locked up.

Apart from the wind, it's just quiet enough to scroll through his phone and use three spare minutes to listen to a new song from the recommended section of YouTube.

Why does his chest hurt, why are his eyes pricking, and why is he thinking about the League of Villains? One turquoise eyed, flame welding villain in particular.

A deadly virus has ravaged Japan, forcing its inhabitants to flee in search of safety. A year later, the surviving members of Class 1A are still haunted by the trauma of loss and survival. Amidst their struggle, a glimmer of hope appears in the form of Hawks, who offers a chance for redemption and closure. Led by Aizawa, the class sets sail to the now-abandoned Japan in search of Eri, who was tragically left behind during the chaos. But as they venture into the desolate ruins of their homeland, they soon discover that something far more sinister is waiting for them-something that will test their resolve, their bonds, and their very humanity. •● Disclaimer ●• { This is a plot-driven story. } { I do not own the characters or the world of My Hero Academia; they belong to Kohei Horikoshi. } { Cover art by Vintage_gigi. } •● Foreword ●• This story is a what-if scenario that unfolds before the events of the First War Arc. It explores theories and questions that were popular at the time, such as: •The identity of the UA traitor. •The shared past of Dabi and Hawks. •The untold history of Stain. Additionally, this story offers a chance for redemption for characters like Minoru Mineta, giving them room to grow and evolve in the face of adversity. A Note on Characterization: I've done my best to stay true to the personalities and motivations of the MHA characters as we know them. However, the events of this story push them into uncharted territory, forcing them to confront new challenges, traumas, and revelations. As a result, their growth-and sometimes their decisions-may diverge from what we've seen in canon. Fights include (but are not limited to): Bakugo vs. Deku Dabi vs. Shoto Deku vs. Lady Nagant Hawks vs. Mirko Kirishima vs. Rappa
