(First Draft) Lyra, raised in a noble family, is one of twenty-three other children to manifest elemental spirits and is sent to the monastery to become a guardian of her country. There, she meets a mysterious boy who is not who he seems, finds a hooded figure in her scrying bowl, and struggles to manage the growing power of her spirit which no one else seems to have any problem with. Dark secrets surrounding the monastery begin to unfold and deals are struck with dark forces outside of her control. Both people she trusts are not who she thinks they are and she must choose who to believe and whose side she truly stands on, her country's or the temple's.

Until she gets sent to the wrong house. All Monicroff's belonged in the Herelds House, not the Seekers . . . She's sent to the Seekers and, and it feels like hell's waiting to swallow her up. To make matters worse, she meets this lonely looking boy in the Corner of the courtyard and finds he's a Seeker too . . . Only he's not as nice and demure as she thought he was. Before long, Teagan must deal with the trials of being a fourteen year old first year Mage with a legacy for a name in the wrong house. This comes with bullying, insecurities, fears of rejection, failing classes, and basically doing everything wrong and butchering the Monicroff name. Just when she thinks it can't get worse. . . She's accused of stealing a magic amulet which could unleash a monster on the world and possible start another war between the Naturals and the Magicals. Also her Father isn't speaking to her.
