Surprisingly, she had a hangover effect. She could keep up with it for some few hours couldn't she?
From that very moment after the last word 'ghosts' was read, she unknowingly began to get obsessed with this character who seemed a lot like her.
Until she realised that the hangover effect didn't just last some 7 hours, 7 days or even 7 weeks. Her life started to revolve around the decisions of this twin character. She was hardly capable of taking an action without thinking of how Helene would have done it.
This twin character, she sub-conciously considered her only judgement.

At the very most, she considered herself as one who was but in few aspects similar and mostly the complete opposite of Helene.
Until eventually... series of events unfolded, each bringing a worse realisation than the other. And she slowly started to doubt that fact.
Perhaps insanity was true paradise. True freedom; wasn't as bad as it was painted to be.
Perhaps losing herself to insanity was the road to ultimate sanity!
That was what she chased in her whole psychiatry...
After all, wasn't it said that if one wanted to understand something, they had to go into the depths of it, lose themselves to it?
How bad could it be after all?

Unexpectedly, she had become who she thought she was better than.
