As if his life couldn't be destroyed enough, Shane is here, praying to a god he doesn't know exist, hoping to whatever spirit is out there, and crying to Mother Nature herself to please and save Bambi. That stupid girl he let himself fall in love with, he let himself become vulnerable with, and once again it caused him pain.
"I'm so sorry," he choked out, a pure apology that Shane wasn't known for.
"We'll get you to Harvey," he promised and picked her up, her small weight nothing to him. Shane could feel the tears running down his cheeks but he refused to acknowledge them or even wipe them away as he would usually do. "Please wake up."
He needed her to wake up.
