A desperate Tails captures Shadow to interrogate him for his role in Sonic and Amy's abduction. Hooking up Shadow to a device to try to extract some information, Tails surprises both of them with how far he is willing to go to get what he's after. Is he doing it for Sonic, for science, or for some other reason?
 
I saw this set of drawings by CyanAltar (https://www.instagram.com/p/C47tIB2op97/?img_index=1) of evil, mad scientist Tails with a frightened Shadow attached at his head to a machine. I tried to write a reasonable story for how and why that could have happened. This is what I came up with. I did my best to keep everybody relatively in character, while understanding that the original drawing shows two characters with expressions that are extremely atypical of them, so I had to write them into that position, which was fun. Since Sonic Prime is freshest in my mind, those characterizations probably bled through the most.
