"𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬?"
asked the overweight girl in the pink sweater with a unicorn in the front. She was on a motorized scooter, having broken several bones after attempting to commit suicide by falling off the Old Mill Bridge just a couple of days prior.
"𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐚."
replied the slender girl in her tattered clothes and ash-covered face, blood smeared all over. She had just witnessed the only person she truly ever loved die right in front of her eyes. She couldn't do anything to help him, and he knew himself that he was far too damaged.
"𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝, 𝐟𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝. 𝐁𝐮𝐭, 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫."
he told her moments before he would inevitably perish. She didn't want him to die like that, she truly didn't. Despite all of the harm he had caused, the death of Heather Chandler, Kurt Kelly and Ram Sweeney, she knew that there was still some good left in him. But, it was all gone now. All gone with no way to bring him back.
All that was left was a void in the female's head. But, she had other things to worry about. Her ongoing pregnancy. She didn't dare to tell any of the surviving Heathers, only herself and the ghosts of Heather, Kurt and Ram that haunt her guilty conscience know.
Not even 𝗵𝗲 knew about the conception of their child. But, Veronica knew better. She couldn't bring herself to raise this child, especially now. No matter how much it pained her, she had to let her offspring go. And so, she did.
