Heatwave and Quickshadow who live in Houston Texas, happily welcome a son into the world. They name him Hot shot. However Hot shot was born was complex heart defects. Hot shot needs a lot of care for his special heart as he grows. Hot shot has had 7 surgeries and 8 cardiac catheterizations he has had 15 procedures done to his heart. He also has four friends with heart defects that are his age too.  Hot shot loves to be playful and run. But sadly he is unable to run and play easily like a normal kid due to his heart problems. But when he is five years old Hot shot's heart begins to fail. Hot shot is in need of a new heart. Hot shot needs a heart transplant. Luckily the doctors at Texas Children's hospital where he is treated are among the best at giving heart transplants. Hot shot is worried about it.
