My friend and I are writing this story based on a project we did a few weeks ago, and I just want some feedback on how we're going so far!
In this alternate universe, Instead of The Soviet Union backing down during the cold war, they sent nuclear missiles to the United States, killing over 123,200,000 people in the span of a month. The following forty years were filled with misery because the nuclear weapons caused a great nuclear winter, the ash-filled clouds drowning out the sky. After fifty years of the US being uninhabited, people from Asia and Europe immigrated to the pacific side of the US, eventually repopulating the country. They decided they needed a leader, so they chose one. The democracy faded, and rules began to come into place. The government leveled up and took control, deciding things for you, and giving you daily tasks you must complete. Then more people began to have suspicions.

It took me 7 months, but we're finally here. This has been inspired by my friends and I playing Among Us 600 years into the future, a company by the name of Innersloth have been promoted after an attack on Area 51 revealed that the government had abducted a child in Alaska. As 8 years progress, 11 different individuals uncover that Innersloth isn't as great as the media potrays them to be. Disclaimer: Every origin story told has had key ideas from the player. I didn't make the concept, I just did the writing. Over the past few months you guys have been great to me and this is my present to you. Some stories are also longer than each other but that's because the players just had more ideas to work with, so don't feel offended if your story isn't as long as others because I've put an equal amount of effort into each one. Because it isn't in chronological order, Time does jump around but in the end they all lead to the year 2820. Life is good in Red Rover Unit for Kevin. In a world where the government feels like it's run more like The Purge meets 28 Days Later, there's not much else he can do but survive, and he can't afford to be picky about how he spends his downtime or who is or isn't waiting on him when (if) he ever goes home to Washington. What more could he want? Still, on a whim, he signs up for the 'Letters from Home' program. A way for soldiers to talk to someone, get care packages, when they have little to no one left in the states. It's through this that he's matched with Toby Fritz. And it's through Toby that Kevin starts thinking he's worth more than the words scribed across the back of his uniform jacket that read, "Property of the US Army- PC Control Unit". After Kevin's time overseas is up, he finds himself back in the states, potentially face to face with his pen pal. Writing those heartfelt, personal words through a letter, and saying them in person, are two incredibly different things. Not to mention, war has a habit of following weary soldiers home (in more ways than old scars and nightmares). And Kevin's figuring out that the field isn't the only place that can turn into a warzone. -- This story is entirely based on fictional characters and events. A young woman (who loves latex a little too much ... if there is such a thing) finds herself confronted with circumstances beyond her control that forcefully alter her life forever. Written 2004-11-28, revised 2018-07-08. This is pretty much my first story, so it's not quite sophisticated. But there's some fun to be found for sure. "And she felt how incredibly relaxed her body was, like she had never been under stress or fear in her whole life. She had been reformatted, reinstalled with a new operating system. What had happened to her, how could it be that she had been transformed into a being of pure free bliss? What had she done, who had decided for that? Could this be just an accident? ... Have you ever had one of those terrible yet annoyingly pivotal moments? You know, that monumental fragment of time that flips everything you have ever known. That plot twist second that completely takes you by surprise. The one just before the storm hits and everything goes to hell. Yes? Because you see, that moment happens to be my whole damn life. It wasn't always like this though. I used to have a pretty mundane existence, happy to just get good grades and be around my friends. God I wish I could get that simplicity back, I'd never complain it was boring again. But I know I'm not going to ever get back my old life because well... I died. (Kinda) But I woke up. And I was thrilled, beyond grateful I wasn't dead. But then I realized that there was one minor detail that had changed about my reality. I was given the chance to live but it turns out I woke up as the villainess in an otome game my friend used to be obsessed with - Kingdom of freaking Hearts (I added the freaking in there for effect, it's just Kingdom of Hearts) Where, for the record, the villainess only has two possible endings 1) execution and 2) getting exiled. So Fate was like, "Don't worry, I'll save you. Here's a chance to live" and then was like "psyche, screw you. You're still going to die but I'll let you suffer a little first." So now, if only to annoy Fate by proving it wrong, I am determined to survive. I can and I will if I play by these simple rules: 1) Befriend Heroin 2) Avoid Aryn Edwards at All Costs as well as other capture targets And 3) Be the top student at the academy and become an invaluable asset to my Kingdom so I become indispensable, thus unkillable. I'm determined, stubborn, persistent and I will live passed 16. Fate made a big mistake setting me up to die. Since it threw this plot twist at me, I figure I'll return the favor. I'll be the biggest plot twist Fate never saw coming...
Is This The End?
I had been living in this dystopian universe my whole life. We lived simple, meaningless lives. I wasn't sad, merely dissatisfied. No one here was ever sad. The Center, which was our government, forced us to take a pill every morning to make sure we were always happy and healthy. For most of our lives we lived at home with our odd families that the government stuck us into as babies. Usually five children were put into each household. We grew up together in a single house, raised and taught by a robot even though none of us were related. We lived at home with limitless entertainment in the form of advanced technologies. We had one day of the week for shopping, one day for going out and one day for labor. On labor days we were assigned a job and had to complete it in order to gain money for the week. Everyone got the same amount no matter the job. If you didn't show up for these jobs there were grave consequences. The Center often used torture as a method of punishment, or so we were told. No one close to me had ever actually been punished by The Center though. It was incredibly rare. Most of us lived our lives as good little pawns doing nothing more than eating, sleeping and entertaining ourselves. But one day, my regular boring life changed...Complete

North Korea finds himself in a new school. At first, he doesn't mind because his friends are going there as well. But then he realizes something. Something he doesn't like very much. His brother attends the same school. South Korea is very annoying and is always trying to be around his brother. On top of that, he's friends with that pesky and annoying American. As long as North avoids and ignores South he can make it through school without any conflict. Even if he does, China, Soviet, and Russia will jump to his aid. Russia is dating America however, so if there's conflict between North Korea and America, Russia might remain nuetral. North's hatred for his brother only continues to grow when he's around him. But soon he finds himself wanting to spend more time with him... Can North and South Korea repair their relationship with each other?
