Madison Vale is notoriously hard on herself, and mildly neurotic.

Being shuttled between two major cities all her life, she never had the opportunity to lay down roots. She never had a longstanding friendship or felt like she belonged somewhere - she was always the misfit.

However, since her family decided to permanently settle down in New York City last year, Madison has finally found friends whom she genuinely enjoys spending time with. But this added another element to juggle alongside school, volleyball, and her duties as the eldest daughter.

With no time to even contemplate her lackluster love life, Madison starts to feel like an outsider again. It's humiliating to be the only senior in school who hasn't had her first kiss, and the mounting pressure leads her to make some ill-advised choices.
