This is meant to be my own take on a Voltron generation and takes inspiration from various incarnations of the franchise, however, I must admit that my main exposure is VOLTRON: Legendary Defender over on Netflix.

In a world where humans have figured out how traverse the stars, four young teens and an ex-astronaut find themselves face to face with a large mechanical lion shaped space ship.
Upon entering the odd contraption, they find themselves whisked away to help fight in an intergalactic space war against the genocidal Galra Empire.
These Earthlings, Hunk, Lance, Shiro, Keith, and Pidge, must figure out how to function as a team if they are to save the day, and keep the Galra from discovering Earth.
Luckily, they have help from Princess Allura of the Planet Altea and her advisor & guard, Coran.
Together, will this team of seven be able to save the universe?
