Once Upon A Story

In real life, I work at a dance studio. This year, our theme for our recital was fairy-tale and we decided to write our own story. Each class pitched ideas for what to put in the story and as a writer, I put them all together in a poem. This is that story. A story with fairies, dragons, mermaids, aliens, mind control, and a lot of tutus. I'll be taking inspiration from the songs we used for each chapter and a friend of mine from dance, KanjeHEHE, also has her own version of this story written out on her account.

What if Cinderella were a mechanic? What if Snow-White were ugly? What if Rapunzel ran away on her own and became a magician? What if The Little Mermaid were originally human? This book contains a collection of twisted fairytales. So twisted are they that they almost reverse the original telling. No more waiting for Prince Charming! No sir, these princesses take their fates into their sensible and capable hands. "Our kingdom was once beautiful, but now the towers are everywhere. They say that Queen Rapunzel has lost her mind--and I believe them. Before, I might have felt sorry for her, but now I just fear her. I fear the sound of her soldiers pounding at the door, demanding that I be taken away. I fear the towers." Years after the original tale of Rapunzel took place, the kingdom--left to the grief-stricken Queen after her husband's death--is falling apart. People live in constant fear of the many terrible towers across the land, built by her Majesty's decree to imprison any who dare question her. Bird's nothing but a girl from the north, but when someone she cares about is taken by the mad Queen's soldiers, she'll stop at nothing to save them. With nothing but her friends, a sled, and a mind full of songs, she sets out to get rid of the towers, once and for all. DISCLAIMER: this is a retelling of the *ORIGINAL FAIRY TALE* by the Brothers Grimm and has no connection to Disney's version whatsoever. After working at a small cafe for almost her whole life, and trying to avoid drama and other stuff-(Y/N) still managed to practice singing and have her own type of fun. [READ DESC!!] ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾ ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☁︎ Alright, just in case you actually liked HSITG, (which I highly doubt), I'll give you the version I wrote on my school chromebook. Just a little warning, the writing sucks. I made this version in the summer of 2024, so don't expect it to be like how my writing is now. I guess I should've continued my book, huh? UPDATED DESC: I've always thought that the vibrance of colors were truly real. The way blue was used, it gave me a sense of motivation. Although, I can't seem to remember the outside world anymore. The way everything seems to darken, I can't even remember how I look like. It's feeding on me, I know it. INSPIRED HEAVILY FROM OMORI. Most of the story thats comes from Omori is actually written on here, so I'll revise it to the best to my ability so it makes more sense. I don't want to just make it seem like I copy and pasted the whole plot of Omori and just changed the characters. That would be wrong. CHANGE OF PLANS: Yea no, I'm leaving it the way it is. I'll only add bad words to it bc I couldn't on my school chrome-book.
