Dacien Yarrow cannot fail again. As a Mindseeker for the mysterious alien Yul'Nari, Dacien is granted immortality, with a catch. He is the most secret of agents, and his sole task, his only reason for existing, is to Bind his Psychord, a troubled teenager named Kota, to the Yul'Nari Synthnet. He failed to Bind his last Psychord. If he fails a second time, there will be no more reincarnation. Maybe there will be no Earth at all. Yet the bond between Mindseeker and Psychord is powerful, and Dacien begins to have feelings for Kota that may get in the way of his mission. When a renegade shows him the truth about what happens during the Binding, it calls into question everything about Dacien's mission, his past, and his very existence. Dacien must face a terrifying choice. Will he defy his powerful Yul'Nari masters to save the ones he loves, or will he complete the mission as ordered? The fate of Earth might just hang in the balance.
