We will be releasing our new album, Sometime Last Night, on July 10 and three days before that, we’ll hit the road for their very own headlining tour across the U.S.
“It’s going to be awesome,” Ross Lynch, 19, revealed when he and brother Riker Lynch, 23, called in to On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday morning to talk about the tour and the band’s second album. “We’re super excited to tour again!”
Fans who attend R5 concerts often get to meet and hang out with the band after the show and sometimes those can turn into a frenzy, but they wouldn’t have it any other way, say Riker and Ross.
“We play smaller venues and we pack it with people that have been to a lot of other events, so we’ve seen these fans all over the place, so they feel comfortable enough with us to just hang out, which is why we do the shows,” the brothers explain. “We just want to play live and create a relationship with our fans.”
Also on Monday, R5 dropped the music video for their first single off Sometime Last Night, “Let’s Not Be Alone Tonight“: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvCQuc98Dlc

Ross Lynch and his girlfriend Hannah have the perfect relationship, or so Ross thought.
The morning that R5 was scheduled to leave on their US tour, Ross got a text from Hannah - who was supposed to be joining them on tour - that said they were over. Ross was crushed. Hannah stole his heart and then stomped all over it.
Ross lets his bad mood control the way he interacts with the people around him, including Line Drive, the opening band that the label asked R5 to invite on tour. When a bad conversation with the lead singer causes Line Drive to want to quit the tour after just two shows, Ross's family expects him to fix it. But the only way he can do that is to write a song with Sophia, the lead singer, so that her band will finally take her seriously as a song writer.
The only problem: Ross has never written a song.
This unlikely pair has a bumpy road ahead of them. When all is said and done, will the song be a hit, or a miss?
