FYI- This is a character x reader story!!

Y/N L/N portrays themself as just a normal person, living a normal life, in a normal town. But, unbeknownst to her new friends, the 'dead boy detectives' - Edwin and Charles - and their psychic Crystal Palace, Y/N isn't as normal as she claims to be. Y/N is one of the Endless children. She is Desolation the Endless. The eighth child, the one who ran away, who's been hiding all her life.

(Y/N is not strictly a female character, I just use she her pronouns to make my life a little easier when writing! But the gender has nothing to do with the overall character!)

(!!Important note!! If you've been reading this story as it comes out, you might know Y/N was originally Decay the Endless, but I'm changing it to Desolation the Endless- it makes more sense because she seen as pointless and useless by her siblings, and is afraid of being alone)

I'm going to lean into a more Edwin x Reader storyline, possibly with some Cat King stuff sprinkled in. But I am not the type to write anything explicit (like smut)- so this will be a wholesome story 👍 (for the most part lol)



I haven't seen any Dead Boy Detective fanfics yet, so here I am to fill that void in media!

Just so you know this y/n is emotionless and shows little to none interest in people. Since this is a fem reader I will be using she/her pronouns and give y/n female body parts. please enjoy the rest of this description. Actual description: Y/n, a girl with little to none emotions. Or at least they don't show. Her mind is dark and so is everything she says when she does talk. She refuses to speak unless she wants, or has to talk to someone. But when she does, people tend to find it creepy or they begin to fear her. She has a loving family, is an only child and has everything she could want. Makes you wonder why she is like this.... That's for another time though... After an... incident, at her other school, she is transferred to Nevermore Academy. Her father was an angel, her mother being a demon who has chosen to be good, fell in love and had y/n. Y/n is a hybrid because of this. Her demon side takes affect more than it should though. Her parents chose for her to go to Nevermore so she could be around other kids like her. Meaning other outcasts. Her parents want her to make friends. Or even someone to love. She is obviously not interested in this. She hates people. Why would she willingly talk to any of them. She sees no point in even making friends... I wonder why? What happens when she is roomed next to the most feared boy in Nevermore and with the happiest girl alive?
