Yes, he has his Tribe that he is immensely loyal to, and yes, he has a starship of his own so that he can travel the galaxy whenever he wants, but none of these things ever felt truly close to the Mandalorian's heart.
But one job changed it all.
A man with an astromech reaches out to him and asks for his help on an integral and highly dangerous mission - rescuing an alien child from an Imperial Remnant prison.
Din wants to finish the job as quickly as possible, yet he feels a certain, strange connection towards his mysterious but friendly client...

Aldor's Eye - Part I

Charting the Stars - Dinluke AU
An AU where Darth Vader found out he had a son, intercepted Obi-Wan on his way to Tatooine, and took Luke. To keep him safe from the Emperor, he hid him away on Arvala-7, where years later Din Djarin would land to collect a bounty on a 50-year-old child. Having never seen the galaxy except for what was visible from his singular window, Luke decides to go with the Mandalorian when he leaves. Specific story warnings at the beginnings of each chapter, but the biggest one is an ongoing theme of overcoming child abuse (though it is not explicit and not talked about often past the first couple of chapters) so I would like to share some resources: Abuse of any kind is never okay. [Star Wars] The Mandalorian Season Three Rewrite
As a huge fan of the first two seasons of the Mandalorian, I found the more recent third season to be lackluster and disappointing for a few important reasons. While I like the focus on Mandalore, the story forgot to focus on Din Djarin and reunited him with Grogu in between seasons, which is both confusing for casual viewers and makes the season two finale null and void. Where the original season three felt directionless at times, this Din Djarin focused season will take place after both rewrites of the Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka series, however it is not mandatory to read either to understand this season (first two season of Mando OG) The first chapter will take elements of the original BOBF's 'Mando episodes' as well as add a new element at the end, and as a reminder, these chapters will not be very 'fanfiction like' as I have kept as much of the original plot as I can the same while improving what I consider flaws and I give all credit to the original series for most if not all the ideas shown. Lastly, while I like seeing Mando and Grogu together, I think it's important to give characters arcs to grow on, so I hope you enjoy what I have in mind for a third season rewrite, and please share your thoughts as it comes together!Complete
