How do you define a hero from a villain? Many people think they have the simple answer to that question. Heros are saviors. Like the gods they flew down to earth, protecting mere humans from evil. They are symbols of all things good. Villains are their shadows. Creeping up from the depth of hell. Reeking havoc on innocent people. Killers. Demons. The symbol of all things sinful. A world of black and white pictures. But you wouldn't be here if that was what you believed. You'd read another story of the valiant hero beating down the wicked villain. This is not that type of story. At least, not as simple. Because no matter how much I wish it was, the world isn't cut and dry.

In a world where 80% of the population has developed unique mutations in their genetic codes, giving them "superpowers", or "quirks", as they call it, it doesn't take long for fantasy and imagination to emerge out of the earth. And further, it doesn't take long for roles of "Heroes" and "Villains" to rise up as well. But... Who coins one as a "hero" or a "villain"...? The person themselves...? Or the people around them...? Light... Dark... Dusk... Dawn... Two sides of the same coin... Twilight... --- Kageyama Kazuma is a 16 year old boy, aspiring to follow his late father's footsteps, and become a hero who saves people. But... Not all can go as planned, or wished, right? So was the case for Kazuma as well, as his quirk soon found itself being held accountable for Kazuma being coined the word "villain" by those around him, before he could even begin his journey to becoming a hero. His only light in this darkness being his mother, is willing to do whatever it takes to keep that smile she treasures so much to never leave the boy's face. But... Being a human at the end of the day, she can only do so much. Follow Kageyama through his journey to becoming one of the greatest heroes in the entirety of Japan. What awaits him on this journey? Friends? Love? Hardships? That's for you to find out. [This is a rework of my first book ever, "What It Means To Be A Hero"] --- I do not own any claims/rights to the My Hero Academia verse, all rights go to Kosei Horikoshi. I only own the original characters I've added to the story, and the arts I add in the book. In case the art doesn't belong to me, I'll credit the said person in the comments. Peace. "I am no hero nor villain. I am the saviour because the world is imperfect, restricting those from saving everyone. I go against it to save those who will suffer from the fall of humanity, and I stand to oppose the world's inadequate infrastructure." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In a world filled with so many powers called quirks, there exists the quirkless. People without quirks are left to be the laughing stock of the world, shamed for not having powers that they can't control. The one thing everyone else people believe is that the quirkless can barely do anything. They are weak, powerless, and a liability. But one opposes that idea. A figure of strength and power to all, a monster chained within, a mind so great that many questions how powerful it is, an endurance comparable to the symbol of peace, and one fights all day and night. This figure faces odds and opponents that make others terrified, with no chance of survival to stand. He resents the idea of a hero, yet fights against the villains. He is the number 1 vigilante, the king of justice, the champion of the world, the guardian of Japan, the saviour. He is Deadshot.
