"Welcome to the infinite world. What's my end game? There came a zero."
Time felt muddled, strange. Too long or too short, how many years? A decade? A century? A millennium? He couldn't tell, nor care to tell. Well, accidentally becoming immortal does do that to you, he supposed. His aging ceased once it happened, his body changing all throughout, becoming odd, inhuman, alien. But he wasn't? It was complicated, to say the least.
"Sent here, there's a silence everywhere - No peace either."
And so he wandered, feeling strange, out of place, taking in all the peculiarities of this planet he calls home. it is his home, right?
The shards within his chest don't say so. Why did they do this to them? Such a lack of care, he thought, for his now forever friends.
The Diamonds. They caused this.
"Where there is no beginning and no end. Will I be like that?"
War. Slavery. Greed. Violence. Cruelty. He has seen it all, more then he should, more then anyone should. Such contempt within their-his race disgusted him.
"And if the words that won't go away still ruin my head."
Yet, complete and utter beauty, he found. It blinded him as if he was looking into the sun. Humanity was beautiful, an absolute treasure and gift, that gave away to so much creativity, diversity, culture, love, passion, and heart. Countless adventures he had been a part of, both sea and land, so many lessons learnt, but he could count each one.
"Do you see the radiant light? Do you hear the beautiful chants? Do you feel the tender warmth?"
Can you? Can you feel the warmth? The kindness? The tender touch of togetherness and love of mankind?
This is what Faust, the 5,000+ year old "human", has set out to understand.
