In our world, submissives can be bought and traded like monopoly properties. Some submissives are lucky to find a happily ever after, but most bounce from owner to owner. Roughly 55% of the world's population is made up of submissives. The other 45% are Dominants. A dom can easily find themselves a sub, but everyone looks for something different in their charge. Subs are sent to a special school when they turn 17, spending the next year being trained to be the best sub possible. How to please their handler. They graduate the school on their 18th birthday, being put up on an online catalog for available subs. Most are bought within a few weeks, but for the ones who don't, they're labeled a self-owned sub on their 19th birthday. Self-owned subs have the rights a dom does; allowed full-time jobs, allowed to open bank accounts, and even allowed to buy property. An everyday sub, one who's in someone else's hands, is not allowed to do those things. They're allowed to work a part-time job with their doms permission. That's as far as sub rights go besides the normal rights you get as a human.
Elliana was 15 when she accepted she'd never see her best friend, 16 year old Demi Bennett, after that day. They sat in Demi's room the day before her birthday. Demi was excited, already packed, but sad at the same time. Elliana had been her best friend for years, since 3rd year, and she wasn't certain she'd let go. Demi was a born sub, however. She didn't have a choice. The S shaped birthmark on her neck said so.
Elliana kept eyes on the catalogs for Demi since her 18th birthday. She watched the picture sit there day after day until her 19th, when the picture was removed. Demi was a self-owned sub. Elliana ran her fingers over the D on her ankle, anxious. The world was brutal. but when she herself turned 19, she took off for the USA, looking yo start her own life, as a Dom, one who was trained at home and certified by 16. And she was on a mission.
To find Her
Saving Leah Series Book 7
"So what do you admire most about women?" I ask the man as he sips on his coffee.
He smirks as he sets his cup down, acting as if my question was some sort of joke, "Her complete submission, of course."
I hum, disproving greatly of this answer as well as all the others before. "Birdie is not the type of submissive to give complete submission easily. What is your plan with that?" I ask him.
He just laughs, "Every submissive can be broken in, it is only a test of a dominant's will," he says with a smirk.
I smile tightly and slide his application into my folder, having all the answers I need.
"So when do I get to meet her?" He asks, suddenly standing as he sees me gathering my things.
I smile for real now, taking great pleasure in this part of the project. "Birdie is a flame in need of stoking, not extinguishing. I appreciate your time, but I have a lot of other candidates-"
"There is nothing wrong with me holding my submissive up to high standards. I'm an incredibly experienced dominant and-"
"This has nothing to do with your experience level. Like I said before-" I try to explain again before he once again cuts me off.
He raises his voice going on about himself. I doubt he really cared for Birdie all that much. He's never met her. This is an ego thing.
"You have a nice day," I tell him with a sigh, turning and checking my watch as I leave the coffee shop.
Appointment four down, six more to go.
