When unexpectedly thrust into the secret world of werewolves, Violet Thatcher must face a series of trials in order to come into her wolf and make sense of the supernatural world she never knew existed.

How does one become a werewolf? It's a question Violet can't say she's pondered much in her eighteen years. That is until she's initiated into Oaks Hollow's secret wolf pack. It turns out that it's actually pretty complicated to become a werewolf. First, one must be born of wolf blood- a fact Violet did not know about herself beforehand. Then, one must pass a series of trials. Five challenges unique to each werewolf and designed by the Moon goddess herself to ensure a prosperous future for her most loyal children.

For Violet, it all happens too quickly. She wasn't born into wolf culture, and she's not at all fluent in the ways of the supernatural world. No one is more surprised than Violet when she begins passing her trials faster than any of the other pups. Yet, while learning to stand up for herself amongst her peers, confronting her adoptive family's unrealistic expectations of her, and truly understanding just how precious a life can be, Violet has only one thing on her mind. Or rather, one person. Wrenly Solace. The werewolf with the long, black braids and the beautiful eyes. Behind those eyes hide secrets that Violet is dying to uncover, and when it comes to Wrenly, it seems she's only capable of digging herself deeper and deeper.
