Max Goodwin is no stranger to loss. After several tragedies strike him, he has no choice but to keep his head held high to provide for his young daughter. Just when he feels life is going to keep kicking him in the ribs, I very quickly finds a new face offering him a hand up.

And- most important: What if Helen never stood up Max at the alter? And what if the writers of New Amsterdam gave us what we actually wanted and deserved.
