It'd been around 9 years since the earth was flooded. Reiden was celebrating his 21st birthday on the roof of his treehouse, watching the sun set behind the water. He was only guessing, really. He thought it was pointless to count the days. To keep track of time as if it meant something with the world in such a state.

He lived for nothing besides his own will and hope that humanity may recover. But the chances were low. There wasnt much of it left. Sure, there was life, plentiful life, but mankind was nearly gone. 

He was surviving, simple waiting until theres nothing more to wait for. Reiden hasn't given up, but maybe certain someone he encounters can bring light back to his life.
