After an incident at the Happy Trails summer camp results in the tragic disappearance of her sister, Hannah Mountebank is ready to lay old ghosts to rest.
20 years later, Hannah is preparing to reopen the new and improved ski resort, Snowflake Mountain, in memoriam of her sister. Meanwhile, six camp counsellors - Willa Hackett, siblings Taylor and Tom Hastings, couple Jacob Barton and Charlotte Woods and, Hannah's estranged son, Liam Mountebank - arrive for orientation. However, an awkward encounter between two counsellors causes a sudden rift.
When strange activity on the mountain drags Hannah elsewhere, the counsellors attempt to make the best out of the situation to pass the time. During a heated argument at the lodge, an unexpected earthquake hits the mountain and traps everyone inside. With no means of communication, panic sweeps through the group as they find themselves cut off from the outside world.
Thrown together with distinctly different personalities, the counsellors find they must reluctantly work together in order to escape the mountain. Desperate to protect themselves, while secretly doubting one another's capabilities, secrets are revealed when the past and present collide.
