12,000 years inside a supposed metal coffin with the slimmest chances of survival.
12,000 years spent frozen after the downfall of humanity and all life on land.
12,000 years for the son of the world's greatest scientist to awaken out of his cold metal coffin.
Awake in a new world so familiar yet so, so different than how he left it. The human race is famous for its adaptability and the creative ways they overcome loss. Now we see how the last human deals with defeat, loss, and the standstill he shall endure in this unforgiving new life.
A/N: I'm bored out of my mind and have a different take on the "human in splatoon" trope. I don't want to spoil my crappy story too much, but basically, I got tired of the "Reader x Splatoon" stories and kinda wanted one with no FOCUS on romance

14 years with peace and quiet; 14 years with no major disturbances; 14 years of Petra being dead, Pearl grieving and the agents of the Squidbeak Splatoon dealing with minor issues. Not to mention Cora (Agent 3) and Tobias (Agent 8) starting a family, Lance and Marie getting married and so much more. 14 years of peace... Isn't that a little too long for our main characters? I think our main villain would agree with that. So what would happen if a familiar member of the huge, confusing family, reappears but as a villain, 3 people already having known about them being alive? (Theoretically) What would happen when people are kidnapped, experimented on, turned evil against their will and forced to fight their families? What if... They couldn't save those who they dearly loved, and had to watch them die? The agents would say that it's nothing new, but within the chaos of this new villain, they would all realise that this fight would be something new. This adventure was going to be different to anything else they have done in their lifetime. This adventure was going to change all of their lives, PERMANENTLY. Y/n L/n is an exceptional soldier and even better person;someone who would rather save others then himself but in an unfortunate turn of events his battalion is slaughtered mercilessly through illegal means. Being the only survivor he wants to get back at them,so he enrolls into a top secret project that should in theory make him faster,stronger and,better luckily it works but he's got bad luck and, is locked in because of human error someone added too many zeroes getting him locked in for an unprecedented amount of time. Having not aged while in the project he is released just short of the end of the war with both sides in a stalemate he turns the tables winning and,becoming a hero in the eye's of his people. He would hope to live a normal life but that would never happen as a disaster so severe would strike humanity so he did what was best for everyone else rather than him.
