STORY IS BEING REVAMPED, CHAPTERS WILL BE REPOSTED SOON
In Brookstone High, the Highschool of a small remote city, hatred and violence is a common occurrence among students, especially those in a minority- lgbt teenagers, who are forced to hide among the shadows to protect their lives.
There are only a few places where they could express themselves, yet they usually don't, as the lingering fear of the consequences and potential isolation terrifies them.
There's a saying in many languages that goes somewhat along these lines- strength is in unity. However, none of these students know of each other. They think they're alone, lost in the darkness of the void.
That is, until something happens.
A butterfly effect, you could call it that.
Myla comes across something she shouldn't have seen, and as time passes, this event slowly changes everything.

Behind closed doors, there's much more depths then you'd image.
Fear and wraith isn't something that comes from the surface, it's deep rooted. It eats you alive, becoming unbearable to handle.
Even when everything seems right on the surface, it's truly not. And it might never be.
TW ⚠️ this story contains violence, violent language, homophobia, abuse, SA topics (no scenes), and is possibly a bit cringey.
This is a gxg focused story, but there are other couples/sexualities presented, which is why the tags are there
To cover the traces of his depravity, Gu Xiao constricted himself to the role of a jester while being torn between the idealisation of others and reality.
Gu Xiao was a slacker in school, constantly truanting and playing around. Unknowingly, when he gets glued to sitting next to Lan Yuning, the school's top student, a linked past that they never knew they shared, gradually came back to haunt them.
These students weaved their way through the tangling threads of familial relationships, financial issues, examinations, and identity while enjoying most of their last high school year.
[You killed him.]
[If you didn't ignore him that time, then he wouldn't have died.]
[It's in the past. If you keep thinking about it, it's only going to do you harm.]
[Sometimes I wonder... if you would be happier if I was the one who died back then instead.]

[I like you.]
[Why... Why would you like someone like me...?]
