I let out a soft Mmm and instantly opened my eyes to see her looking at me with her head slightly tilted to the side and an amused smile playing on her lips. "Do you always have that reaction to things that taste good?" The possibility of a double meaning to her question wasn't lost on me and it surprised me, making me cough. I cleared my throat before answering. "Well, it depends.." I answered carefully. "On what?" She leaned forward slightly with what looked like an almost mischievous glint in her eyes. "On what I'm eating," I fired back sounding a lot more confident than I felt. Her eyebrows went up slightly. *** When Ren stumbles upon a job opportunity, she never thinks that it'll completely change her life. Meeting Cameron offers her something she thought she'd never get.. a second chance. Little does she know that it will also mean finally finding herself. From birth, Trinity saw the world differently than her peers. Not that she knew much of her peers in her childhood as she was home-schooled. However, that's all in the past. She has her own business, works hard and all-in-all, she's happy. For the most part, that is. As long as she still has her seclusion for which she has worked hard and values above all else, then she will be fine. If people would just stay away... Leah has been blind her entire life but never let it hold her back as she embraced it with open arms. She hasn't ever known any differently and life is great. Or at least, it could be with these new changes. Moving to a new town, Leah is excited to begin a new life, but her family isn't exactly shy about their protectiveness of her. If only she could be somewhere, anywhere where people would treat her just as they would anyone else. As their paths cross, Leah and Trinity's lives are forever changed, some changes for the better and others still up for debate. People can sometimes surprise us in the most exhilarating of ways, however, and they are just about to find out exactly why. 2019 WATTY AWARD WINNER | TO BE PUBLISHED BY 'W BY WATTPAD' IN FALL 2024 Jessie is a twenty first century kinda gal stuck in the Regency Era. Armed with a new university degree and a plane ticket to Paris, the plan was to celebrate graduation in the City of Love, kissing as many drunk French girls (or boys, she's not picky) as she can. Only, she never makes it. Mid-Atlantic, a mysterious accident sends Jessie hurtling to what should be a watery grave. Rescued from the ocean, Jessie is lucky to be alive. Only problem? The crew of the ship she's on is convinced it's a sailing vessel that just narrowly missed out on participating in the Battle of Trafalgar. Stuck in Regency-era England, Jessie is left with no choice but to enter into the services of as a maid and companion in return for what shelter her new employer can provide, and resign herself to a life of quiet servitude and forever hiding her sexuality. What she didn't count on was that her new boss would be Margaret Goodenough - the world famous authoress whose yet-to-be-completed novel was the first lesbian kiss in the history of British Literature, and a clever woman. Clever enough to know her new servant has a secret. Now Jessie is caught. Margaret's own perception of her place in society is transforming, the text of her novel is slowly changing, and Margaret herself is finally unafraid to embrace her own Sapphic desires. Margaret - and her main characters - are turning into irresistibly headstrong and modern women. Jessie must tread the tenuous line between finding her own happiness in a world where she is alone, and accidentally changing the course of history. Should Jessie suppress the manuscript, or is her duty to the woman she's learning to love? Sam and Hailee come from two completely different worlds. Sam is a young woman to whom everything seems to come easily: raised in a wealthy family, surrounded by loving parents, she is studying law and headed toward a bright future. Hailee, on the other hand, lives on the margins - in a room as dark and narrow as the life that's been forced upon her since she was cast out by her family. Their paths were never meant to cross, and yet, their encounter changes everything. Drawn to Hailee's fierce sense of freedom, Sam gets pulled into a world that fascinates her as much as it unsettles her. But behind that apparent freedom lie shadows, deep wounds... and very real dangers. As their bond deepens, Sam will discover that this vibrant and unpredictable world could shatter everything she thought she knew - and put her in harm's way.
