She tore through the forest, looking for a sign she was close through the misty air. Everything around her, the trees, bushes, and animals were all blur. They meant nothing to her anymore. The smallest flicker of light you could even imagine wavered in the farthest length of her peripheral vision. She ran faster, tears that once slid down her cheeks were dried by the wind. Minutes later she reached the light. A single street lamp. Flickering on and off repeatedly, the lamp struggled to stay on. She stared up at it with eyes glittering from tears. She was like that lamp struggling to live every day but still somehow managing to survive. Until tonight. A single look and any one person could tell her intentions for they poured out through her facial expression.
As she began to pull something out a crack sounded in the woods not to many feet away. Her headed snapped in that direction and she began to run. Faster than before she sprinted when suddenly her ankle buckled and reality faded
