Synopsis
"Get out," he said calmly, his voice devoid of warmth. Suddenly, my legs seemed to have a mind of their own as I turned stupidly toward the door, as if compelled by some invisible force. Guess that's how powerful he is, people just mindlessly obey him, without him shouting or resorting to vulgarities, which he probably felt were beneath him.
Remembering what I was actually here for, I made a big U-turn and tried to face him squarely, which I failed miserably at, as the only thing that came out of my mouth was a stutter, a very small and nervous stutter.
"I-I-I-I am preg-preg-pregnant."
He didn't even look up at me. He just sat there calmly, radiating the aura of a king, as if he were above everyone else and I was nothing more than insignificant dirt or mud on the ground. His gaze held absolute control and calmness.
Giving myself "the big talk" in my head, I continued, a little more confidently this time.
"Ummm... a month ago at Traven's, we had sex."
"Oh, you're sure?" he remained unfazed. And that was all it took for me to lose my cool. I started screaming mindlessly like a shrew, spewing vulgarities non-stop as if they were my most common vocabulary.
Meet Joanne Peterson, a girl. Yeah, just a girl, well... at the very least a pretty one. But that's all she's got, a pretty face and a high school diploma, if that even counts. She's living a very boring and ordinary life until that one night, the night that changed her life forever and got her stuck with "MR BILLIONAIRE'S BABIES".
"You wouldn't believe what haa--" a high pitched scream escaped my throat before I could stop myself.
I clutched my chest and baby bump at the sight of the grey-eyed man seated on my couch. He looked comfortable like he owned the place.
"Oh my God," I willed myself to take in deep breaths. "What are you doing in my apartment? And how did you get in here?"
"I have my ways, " he leaned back with a smug expression playing on his features and his eyes fixated at my baby bump.
