Maya was a high school student, but for the last five years, she has been missing something. She lost all her friends (Riley, Farkle, Smackle, and Lucas) in high school. Lucas moved back to Texas to play basketball for his old team, Riley joined the cheerleading squad, and Farkle and Smackle joined the geniuses in school. Not to mention her boyfriend, Zay, who dumped her, saying she was a distraction while he was pursuing his college scholarship so he could play baseball in the pros. When it's the last stop of Maya's espresso tour, Miranda brings a date named Tyler to the concert. But Miranda's date, Tyler, brings his best friend, Zay. Who turns out to be Maya's ex-boyfriend, Zay, from high school, who is now a successful baseball player like he always wanted.
