Jasper is an antisocial author who lives on the edge of her rural town, Creekville, and the next town, the infamous Fox Hill. Fox Hill is an entirely wooded town with only a few dirt roads and trails to travel its thick forests. Fox Hill is not famous for being so back woods though, it is much more than that. It's sinister wildlife is the real reason it is completely avoided by outsiders. It is said that a vicious wolf like creature stalks its forests at night. One fateful day, Jasper finds the creature is not just legend, but all too real when she runs into it on her way home... or rather... it runs into her.

Jasper, Michigan is wolf country. Many of the inhabitants can turn, and the pack works almost hand-in-hand with the local government. Despite their coexistence, humans and werewolves are forbidden to love each other, and those who turn are still forced to keep it secret from those who do not. For the first time in fifteen years, the alpha of the pack is defeated, and a new heir takes his place. But with his inexperience, the pack falls into disarray and the town is sent into turmoil. And when a certain new girl arrives, she only serves to add the fuel to the flame that threatens to burn this place to the ground. With the mutinous taking over and the alpha weakened, will she save the town or fall to the side of the lawless?
