This is a trilogy, that grows in intensity (and writing skills :D ) where we'll find out about his life and struggles where he has been left by J.K.R. in the last chapter. That Christmas, 19 years later.

It starts light but contents tend to grow intense. Nothing excessive but still I would put a ban to younger than 15? 16? Be the judge of yourself but keep in mind that it contains:
Sex. Nothing explicit nor vulgar but it's there as in all adults lives.
Swearing. Idem as above.
Violence. Unfortunately, time to time, idem as above.
Deaths.
