He sat up in his bed, a cold breeze drifting lazily through his room. His skin was undamaged, smelling vaguely of lavender. Yet the smell of ash and burning flesh still remained in his nose. This wasn't possible.


     Whispers traveled through the palace, just a breath here and there, but it was enough. Rumor has it that his horse was shot three times before the guards realized that he came in peace. He said he came with an important message that must be given to the queen immediately. But that's not all, most surprising was that the messenger was still alive. During the war, messengers would almost always be killed after they had done their duty. Don't kill the messenger they say? Well to do that in these times would almost certainly be suicide.
By mid-day, almost everyone knew about the envoy sent from the Recian Empire; their sworn enemy. Everyone except Ira.
