Alledel Marquez was only fifteen when she secretly fell in love with Vincent Montero, a seventeen-year-old boy who loved to play basketball with his friends outside her aunt's house. Every time she saw him, she couldn't help but stare-his mesmerizing eyes, pointed nose, long thick eyelashes, and lips that seemed made for stealing hearts.
One day, Vincent gathered the courage to confess his feelings to Alledel. For two weeks, he persistently pursued her, showing his sincerity and how deeply he cared. At last, Alledel said yes. She saw his perseverance, and in his arms, she found her first taste of young love.
But fate was cruel. Because of personal reasons, Alledel was forced to leave without saying goodbye. Vincent was left devastated. His love slowly turned into anger, and over time, he convinced himself that he had been a fool to believe she truly loved him.
