Unforeseen Fate (steven x spinel)

After going through a huge emotional explosion caused by the traumas linked to his tumultuous past, Steven Universe decides to get away from the world of gems and go on a road trip on his own. Desperately seeking a peaceful, "human" life, he strives to find inner balance and heal his deep wounds. After months of introspective travel, Steven finally returns to Beach City, hoping to find a fresh start and some well-deserved tranquility. However, his return coincides with the unexpected arrival of Spinel, rekindling emotions and memories he'd rather have left behind.

Determined to make amends and find her place in this new world, Spinel decides to return to Earth to try and renew her ties with Steven. However, Steven, still scarred by Spinel's past actions, tries to reject her coldly, even feeling disgust towards her.

Despite Steven's initial reactions, Spinel persists in her efforts to make amends, determined to win his trust. However, her clumsy attempts to befriend Steven only increase the latter's distrust.

As time goes by and Spinel continues to insist, a strange relationship begins to develop between them but Steven realizes that he actually has a lot in common with Spinel, especially on a mental level. Despite their apparent differences, they share similar experiences of trauma and inner struggles, bringing them together in unexpected ways. Their complex relationship evolves over time, leading them to find unexpected solace in their mutual understanding. Steven, troubled by Spinel's actions and intentions, gradually finds himself drawn to her, even though he knows their relationship is dangerous and potentially destructive.

Over time, Spinel's subtle manipulations and forced advances eventually shake Steven's resolve, leading him to question his own feelings and loyalty to Connie. Steven must confront his personal demons and decide whether he can really trust Spinel, or whether he should listen to his reason and put an end to their toxic relationship.
