Emma Carpenter is a classic example of a nerd. She does her homework, gets straight A's, reads all the time, and never gets in trouble.
Then one day Emma gets detention with the one and only Dylan Evans. You could say he's a bad boy. He punches anyone who pisses him off, sleeps around with every girl he meets, doesn't attend school, and is in trouble 99.9% of the time. And of course Emma can't stand him. During detention there teacher assigns them a project for them to do together over the next couple of weeks. Emma is furious.
So what happens when Emma soon realizes there is more to Dylan than that meets the eye?

We've all heard about 'the main character'. The type of person who lives through the most dramatic and improbable situations, and finds the kind of epic romance you only see in works of fiction. Which makes you think about how unrealistic love like that is. I used to think the same thing until I met him. I smiled at him but tears were starting to blur my vision together. "I hate you." His smile faltered and he looked taken back, "Not like that, Drake. I hate you because you make me cry.
