Sebastian Dahl, who also goes by the name Bastian, has faced many challenges. He was born deaf, which has made him feel isolated and different from others, and on top of that, he has had to deal with his father's alcohol addiction since he was a small child. His father used to beat him up regularly until Bastian turned eighteen, leaving him with deep emotional scars. Despite this, Bastian tries to lead an everyday life by attending school and caring for his father, who is often drunk and aggressive when Bastian comes home. One day, Bastian notices a new face on the bus-a girl who starts riding the bus more frequently. She usually sits further back, but on one particular morning, the only available seat is next to Bastian. The girl has no idea that Bastian usually avoids interacting with people, but this encounter will profoundly impact his life.
