Mia is a teenage girl who had to grow up way to fast. After her fathers death and a mother who, other than sending a check once a month for the bills is nonexistent, Mia had to take responsibility. At age sixteen Mia had to get a part time job as a waitress and be a parent to her two younger siblings. It was a hard life for anyone, not to mention a seventeen year old girl.

Tucker is Mia's neighbor who is the guy all the girls gossip about. He is the star quarterback, very good looking, and has just been dumped by his girl friend of three years. Mia has always liked Tucker. But what Mia didn't know was that one of her best friends, Clay, had hidden feelings for Mia.
