Mary stared into the night sky as her broken body slowly withered away on the frozen forest floor. Her eyes followed the stars, and she could see her final breaths escape into the cold air, the snowflakes slowly falling around her. Wolves, just out of sight, licked their lips in anticipation for a fresh meal. Mary could hear them just barely, yet she knew they would treat her body with more care than those before them. The mothers would feed their young first, and she was okay with that. Maybe it was the stars that aligned and shone down on her as if they knew something special was about to happen, or maybe it was the warmth of the hands that clung so desperately to her body...but finally, she felt free. Everything was in order and going just according to the plan she could feel it; this was meant to be. Mary was always one to stick to rules and plans, it's just who she was. Daryl Dixon, however, was not. He was a free man who would spit on the idea of something so frivolous as 'fate'. He would fight to hell and back for the people he cared about, and it just so happened that Mary was on that list. ✿✿✿ ⚠️ Warnings listed in first chapter ⚠️ Don't be a silent reader, don't have to vote lol just would like comments so I can have some feedback to see how I'm doing :) Started: May '24 Finished:--
