Nikolai Kori Grimes is the younger sister of Rick Grimes and the biological father of Carl Grimes. At the age of 18, Nikolai and her girlfriend at the time had Carl, but Nikolai's girlfriend died during childbirth. Nikolai gives Carl to her brother and his wife, and they all agree that either when Carl is 18 or if something happened to Nikolai that they would tell Carl who she really was to him. 12 years later, after an incident that puts Nikolai in a coma, she awakens to the dead walking.
