The word tawaif (तवायफ़) has historically referred to a highly successful courtesan, dancing girl, or female entertainer who catered to the nobility of the Indian subcontinent, particularly during the Mughal era.

"Aap toh inse nikkah karne wale the?.." The officer asked the young nawab sitting on the chair taking the hand of the young woman in his hand.

(I thought you were going to marry her?)

The young nawab's jaw tightened, his nostrils flare up looking at the joint hands of them but controlled himself; and said the most bizarre thing. "Nikkah aur inse?" A small chuckle left his mouth taking a look at her face.

(Marriage with her?)

"Tawaifon se nikkah nahi karte." He said to the official, taking a look at a young woman whose head was down continuously throughout the conversation.

Set in the backdrop of 1920 India, a young nawab falls in love with a tawaif will they live happily or will their eternal love die on the way?...

[story is heavily inspired by heeramandi so you might see similar scenes, and I loved the two of the characters "tajdar and alamzeb" so this story is very similar and almost the same as theirs as they didn't get the love they deserved!]

None of the characters are mine just the plot. Even if you haven't watched the series you can still read it.
