She meets the others after a transformation happens. Optimus, Bumblebee's leader and adoptive father, gives her a Merformer amulet that helps her control her transforming. Now stuck in two worlds-one in the sea and one on land-she must keep the location of the Merformers' hidden home and their existence a secret for as long as she can. But it turns out that the government knows about them. When a man comes proclaiming he wants to protect them and their home, Charlie tells him that it isn't up to her.
