Owen and Theo are on a mission to retrieve wood and meat for their clan. Their clan resides in a land of stone. Surrounding the outer part of the land are hundreds of trees. They must use the woods to gather resources to survive. Wood is the most important resource, as it is always dark and cold in their world. Owen and Theo encounter a group of creatures that they have never seen before. They kill the creatures and take them back to their land to a group of people known as the Council. The Council monitors everything and everyone who goes in and out of the land. When Owen and Theo bring back the corpses of the creatures that they have killed, they realize quickly that they have made a grave mistake.

When Laina and their family embark on a tense holiday drive, a sudden car crash leaves Laina alone in the middle of a snowbound wilderness. With eerie rituals unfolding in the nearby woods and their parents missing, Laina must confront the unsettling secrets of the abandoned village of Stonegate. As strange apparitions and technological marvels weave a tale of mystery and horror, Laina realizes that Stonegate harbors a chilling connection to an AI long forgotten. The line between reality and nightmare blurs as Laina ventures into a town where the past refuses to die-and neither will its secrets.
