Exept for a small few.
Their nightmares were purified and cooperated with their host, granting the host magical abilities.
Those who were purified were able to fight the nightmares and protect the cities.
And when the time came, their children took the role.
Then their children.
And their descendants gained the powers to fight the nightmares.
They are called the Darkwatch.
