"Deviltown is colder in the summer time." Opal Hale is from a small town in the UK. With not much to occupy her she studied hard and graduated from school at 15 and university at 18. She is incredibly intelligent for her age and moves to the USA. Gets a job with the BAU in Quantico. Enemies to Lovers trope. SLOW BURN. Extreme violence, rape, non-con, murder, character death, kidnapping, age-gap, MATURE THEMES. Excerpt: "Just wondered how you get anything done with those dainty fingers," she shrugged and that wiped the smirk right off of his face, which in turn bought one to hers. Reid scowled for a moment, brows pinched together before he lent forward even more, face inches from Opal's - who just then realised that she'd been gradually inching closer to him during the conversation. His next words came out quietly but unbelievably clear. "I can show you, if you want." DISCLAIMER: I own Opal Hale, as well as the plot I've created, I do not own any of the Criminal Minds characters. This is purely fanfiction.

There are moments in life that you work so hard for, things your younger self couldn't even imagine you doing... and when those moments arrive, what do you do with them? After joining the Victim Services Branch of the FBI in Quantico, it's been a dream to interact with the BAU and assist a case of theirs. Your lifestyle of late nights and overworking yourself keep you single despite this loneliness you refuse to acknowledge. But when you're constantly reminded of how quickly life can shatter around your feet, leaving you bare and bleeding as you try to put the pieces back together as neatly as you can... only for life to never be the same again, you start to feel it a little more. When the call finally comes, your work pulls you into a case the BAU is tackling, and while it caught you a little off guard, you walk away from the case with something more. Spencer has never shown vulnerability until you came around, and then things changed. From innocent comments to passionate nights, your world shifts as your two souls collide into one. *Disclaimer/Trigger Warning: this story is a work of fiction building off of information gathered from the series Criminal Minds and my own experiences within social service work. This story will contain mature topics such as addiction, mental health, suicide (past tense), trauma, detailed intimacy (idk if I'm qualified to deem this smut, so you be the judge), intercourse, and other topics readers may feel uncomfortable with.
