Hot shot is a playful and active five year old. He lives with his father Heatwave and his mother Quickshadow. His father is a firefighter and his mother is a pediatric oncologist. They all live in Fort Worth Texas. The live a happy life there. However soon Hot shot begins to feel unwell. He is tired all the time, he has a painful left ankle, he is limping, he has a fever that won't go away and he has a lump on his left ankle. His worried parents take him to see his pediatrician. His pediatrician is worried and sends them to Cook Children's hospital to see a pediatric oncologist. There they do all kinds of tests on Hot shot. Then Hot shot is diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma a type of bone cancer.  Hot shot is brave and ready to fight his cancer.
