They all live in Fort Worth Texas. The live a happy life there. However soon Hot shot begins to feel unwell. His left knee is hurting, he is limping, he has a fever and there is a lump where his knee is. His worried parents take him to see his pediatrician. His pediatrician is worried and sends them to Cook Children's hospital to see a pediatric oncologist. There they do all kinds of tests on Hot shot. Then Hot shot is diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma a type of bone cancer.  Hot shot is brave and ready to fight his cancer.
