This story is set in 1944 France, after D-Day. The Nazis are liquidating their resources and moving their spoils to Germany before the Allies can take it back. Colonial Indiana Jones is sent behind enemy lines to capture Edward Nickelson, an old college friend, and British traitor, from reaching Germany with a weapon that could give Hitler the war. It's a race against time as hours on a clock tick down to the last second!
Indiana Jones' beliefs and views on preservation are put to the test when Nickelson reveals how the world is destined for a new painful culture of gray. The name of heroes disappears from cultural lips and no one knows what a hero is anymore. This story takes place after 'The Last Crusade' and before 'Crystal Skull'.
